Notable Center Facts

• The Canadian Studies program is the oldest in the U.S. The Center was established in 1958 by A.J.M Smith, Poet Laureate of Canada and Russel Nye, Pulitzer Prize winning author.
• The Center is comprised of over 70 core faculty, graduate students from over 30 departments, MSU Library and Museum staff and K-12 educators.
• The MSU Press publishes more scholarly books on Canada than any other university press in the U.S.
• The MSU Main Library is an official repository for Canadian government documents and offers many electronic resources for use by students and faculty.
• The Canadian Studies Center offers an 18 credit undergraduate specialization in Canadian Studies.
• Internships with Canadian law, government agencies and private sector business firms are available to students of MSU and Detroit College of Law.
